in the words of the suggestor (slightly edited):
Daddy's belly by ~StarkNaked is one of those rare, crystal-clear gems in a world of cynical abstraction. The simplicity of the imagery is misleading, for beneath the fragile presentation lies an ocean. It is one of the most rending elegies I've read.

It would shake a little
when he laughed.
It would rise and fall
when he slept.
It would demand much room,

It came to be that I was convinced
his heart was in that belly,
that it was big simply because
he needed more space.

why didn’t his belly collapse?
Why couldn’t his stomach
have attacked him instead?
Not his loving heart -
not his love that everyone envied, admired,
that beat so loudly
as though it were a Chinese gong.
I look in the mirror now
and wonder if my heart too,
is lower than it should be.

The Room
The room was small, built in the shape of a sphere. The walls, floor and ceiling were all painted a bright, blinding white, creating a cold and unfeeling setting. There was no visible discrepancy to the sphere's shape. There was nothing else in the room, and it was kept lit by an unidentifiable source of light. There were no windows, and the only door that led outside blended in seamlessly with the walls. There was no way to tell left from right, front from back. And in the middle of the sphere sat a man.
His raven black hair was long, dirty and fell to his shoulders in matted locks. He wore a plain white shirt, or at least a shirt that had

Out of Control
It's 6:46 and thirty-one seconds when the doorbell rings. My mom runs to answer it.
"Hi, Michelle!" I hear my mom call. It's my sister. She left her college friends to have dinner with us tonight.
I have four minutes before I can go out and greet her. I can only walk through doors when the number of minutes is divisible by five. 6:46 and fifty-nine seconds. Not happening.
It's the killer of what could be an okay life. I'm late for class all the time when I'm at school. A teacher will let me out at 1:50 exactly. I walk through the hallways in a straight line, starting with my right foot, ending with my left. I reach the door,

Shiver
An earthquake rolls across her skin
as green curtains reserve a space
for construction -
he looks at splattered bed sheets
and cradles a small shiver.
He inhales, holds the breath. Hands
calloused by supermarket boxes grip
the railing. Cord of blood and sweat
fused into life is taken into other,
more precise palms.
A hand on his shoulder whirls
him around - birth is burdened
into his arms. Black curls smell sweet.
He feels her hand envelope his as he
leans forward to kiss the wailing temple
turned an angry shade of red. She's
whisked away - to wash and dry.
A statue of bones -
becomes a colossal collapse.

It took me a week to get this one done. I wanted to write something from the view of a little child, but keep it with my own mindset. That doesn't make to much sense to me either...but I really like the way this turned out.
